Andhra Pradesh: Cabinet reshuffle will only trouble YSR Congress, says BJP MLC

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC PVN Madhav said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision to reshuffle the cabinet will only create new troubles in his party, but will not benefit the state. He said that already slogans of ‘CM Down Down’ are echoing at various places.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP office here on Monday, Mr Madhav alleged that the ministers in the state have no work to do as the state is divided into three regions and each region has three senior leaders. He said that it is true that tenders and promotions of employees in various departments are also being done without the participation of the minister concerned. He alleged that the MLAs, ministers and leaders of YSRCP were expressing their displeasure over such repression.

Mr Madhav questioned whether former deputy chief ministers Pushpa Srivani and Dharmana Krishna Das could explain what they have done in their district or at least in their constituencies in the last two-and-a-half years.

“The government claims that priority is being given to BC leaders. Priority does not mean giving portfolio. Were the BC leaders allowed to work on their own?” he questioned.

He said that many irrigation projects in northern Andhra were not completed as they were neglected by the previous governments. He said that the government should complete the works of Vamsadhara Phase II at the earliest. He also said that contractors working in many projects have not got dues.
