Andhra Pradesh to implement semester system in government schools

The Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday issued an order to introduce the two-semester system in all government schools from classes 1 to 9 from the next academic year and for class 10 from 2024-25.

The GO said that the new arrangement is part of the steps being taken by the state government for effective implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 and for massive improvement in school education.

Therefore, it is informed to all Regional Joint Director School Education, District Education Officer, Additional Project Coordinator of Comprehensive Education and Principals of DIET in the state that two semester system will be followed from class one to nine in the state from the academic session. . In respect of Class X from the years 2023-24 and 2024-25,” it read.

The order further stated that the semester system would be beneficial for both students and teachers, while making learning more meaningful.
