Andra Pradesh The government has issued a gazette notification which covers 26 districts out of the existing 13. all new districts Will come into existence from April 4 (Monday), said the gazette issued on Saturday night.

Soon after the notification was issued, the YSR Congress government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reshuffled IAS and IPS officers and appointed collectors and superintendents of police in the newly-created districts.

The state government had in January issued a draft notification to create 26 districts out of the existing 13 and invited suggestions and objections. Reddy had promised during the campaigning for the 2019 assembly elections that his party would make every Lok Sabha constituency a district if voted to power. There are 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state. A district was also carved out of tribal areas in East Godavari and Visakhapatnam.
