58-year-old first-time tribal MLA Angada Kanhar, who represents Phulbani assembly constituency in Odisha’s Kandhamal district, appeared for the 10th board exam. Due to family problems, he had to stop his studies from class X in 1978. He decided to appear in the examination conducted under the State Open School Certificate (SOSC) mode. Like other candidates, the tribal MLA also reached the examination center about half an hour before the scheduled time and entered the examination hall by showing his admit card at the entrance. His friend and sarpanch of Luisingh Panchayat of Phiringia block was also sitting in the same center for HSC examination.
