AP CM asks officials to repair urban roads on priority

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed officials to take up road repair work in corporations and municipalities on a priority basis.

Addressing the review meeting of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department, the Chief Minister said, “The concerned officers should take photographs before and after the repair works as it was done for the works done under the Nadu-Nedu scheme. goes.” on Monday.

He also ordered that drinking water be supplied to every household on a daily basis, and that the grievances of the people be resolved with ‘the utmost responsibility’.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “A MIG layout should be developed in each assembly constituency and plots with clear ownership should be made available by following the rules.”

Officials informed the Chief Minister that around 6,791 acres of land has been identified in 82 urban constituencies and the layout work is in progress in Guntur, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Cuddapah, Kurnool, Sri Sathya Sai and Tirupati districts.

Referring to the TIDCO houses, the Chief Minister said that all infrastructure should be built on a large scale in the colonies. “An amount of ₹5,500 crore has been spent on TIDCO houses in the last three years and more funds will be allocated in the coming days,” he added.

Under the ‘Clean Andhra Pradesh’ initiative, the Chief Minister stressed on the need to create awareness among people about wet, dry and hazardous waste by running door-to-door campaigns. Officials said that 1.12 crore dustbins have been distributed so far and by May 22, 8 lakh more dustbins will be distributed. Also, 2,426 autos were already engaged under the programme. A total of 1,123 e-autos will be available by June and the rest are expected to be ready by the end of this year.

Referring to the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project, the Chief Minister asked the officials to submit a comprehensive report including the design of coaches and details of facilities at the stations, giving priority to eco-friendly policies.

With regard to Jagannath Mahila Mart, he asked the officials to set up more and more of them to empower Self Help Groups (SHGs).

Officials informed the Chief Minister that widening of Karakatta road has been expedited and necessary work has been started on Seed Access Road (E-3). The construction work of quarters for MLA, MLC and IAS officers was going on.

MA&UD Minister A Suresh, Chief Secretary Sameer Sarma, Special Chief Secretary (MA&UD) Y. Srilakshmi, Secretary V. Ram Manohar Rao, Commissioner Praveen Kumar, AP-TIDCO MD Ch. Sridhar and CRDA commissioner Vivek Yadav were also present in the meeting.
