Apex Council meeting: BCCI to decide on restarting CK Nayudu Trophy; LOC formation for 2023 WC

The fate of the CK Nayudu Trophy and Senior Women’s T20 will be decided, which were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the local organizing committee for the 2023 ODI World Cup is likely to be formed when the BCCI Apex Council meets. The meeting will be held on March 2. ,

The CK Nayudu Trophy and the Women’s Senior T20 event for U-25 cricketers had to be postponed last month due to the rising cases of COVID-19.

The Ranji Trophy was also postponed, but with the caseload lower, the BCCI decided to hold the premier domestic event from February 17. The first round ended on Sunday.

The 14-point agenda for the meeting includes organizing these two domestic events as the COVID-19 situation improves across the country.

Also on the agenda, which is in possession of PTI, is the formation of the LoC for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Last year’s T20 World Cup could not take place in India due to the pandemic but BCCI is looking to host another major ICC event next year.
The appointment of GM-game development will also be finalized after Dheeraj Malhotra stepped down last month.

The Indian cricket team’s sponsor’s contract is set to expire on March 31 and that too will be discussed. The allocation for the five-match T20I series against South Africa to be held in June will also be decided.

The central contracts of men and women cricketers will be ratified and this will be the first of its kind sexual harassment policy of the BCCI.

Hosting fee hikes for state associations are also on the agenda and so is the appointment of a sports science chief at the National Cricket Academy.
The order passed in the matter of representation of Purvanchal Cricket Association will also be confirmed.
