Apple iOS 15 Users Are Reporting Extensive Bug: iOS 15, All Bugs and Issues Rolled Out with iOS 15.0.1

Apple has recently released the latest version for iPhone Software – iOS 15. While iOS 15 brings new features to the iPhone, the iOS released this year has been beset with some issues that users have reported in the latest Apple Operating System. Some of the issues include touch, storage, Apple Watch functionality, and more. While Apple has promised to release a software update to resolve several issues that users are reporting with iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 devices, there is no clarity on when the fix will be available.

Considering the amount of problems that come with iOS 15, the Cupertino-based giant has rolled out iOS 15.0.1 which brings a fix for some issues. iOS 15.0.1 is a minor upgrade that includes important updates for bugs reported by users. Let’s take a look at all the issues that have surfaced over the past few weeks since iOS 15.

Storage – Incorrect tabulation and “iPhone storage almost full” warnings

Just two days after iOS 15 was launched to the public, users started reporting bugs in the latest iPhone operating system. One of the most prominent is the false warnings regarding storage. Several users online complained that despite having storage in their iPhone, there is an “iPhone storage almost full” warning inside Settings. The warning setting cannot be dismissed and tapping it takes users to the storage setting on the iPhone, which shows sufficient storage.

In addition, users on Twitter soon after updating to iOS 15 complained that their iPhones were showing more storage than available. In other cases, an iOS bug resulted in incorrect tabulation for how much storage a user’s content was taking up. For both of these problems, Apple Support advised users to restart their devices at the time, but there were many reports of this not taking effect.

unresponsive touch

Several iPhone users, including iPhone 13 users, were found to be complaining about touchscreen issues intermittently with their iPhones on iOS 15. Users said that their iPhones do not respond to touch input, sometimes requiring them to force restart the device to resolve the issue. User reports on multiple platforms such as Twitter, Reddit, forums and Apple support pages include reports of touch issues occurring in the iPhone 13 model. Users are reporting problems with Tap to Wake, and other instances of system-wide and in-app touch input not responding.

Now, it is not only iPhone 13 users who are facing this issue with touch sensitivity. If it were only iPhone 13 users, the problem could have been limited to a possible hardware issue for some iPhone 13 models. However, users of older iPhone models as well after updating to iOS 15 are reporting touch issues. This suggests that it is most likely a software related bug.

apple watch unlock not working

Back in April, Apple promised an update that would allow users to wear a mask to unlock their iPhone with the Apple Watch. However, iOS 15 was very disappointed as this feature was not working. Apple has now fixed this problem with the iOS 15.0.1 update.

Message bug deleting saved photos

A bug in the iOS 15 Messages app, first reported earlier this week, could delete some saved photos. Users reported that if they save a photo from a message thread and then delete that thread, the next time an iCloud backup is performed, the photo disappears.

Disable Siri Controls on AirPods Pro

Another bug was preventing some AirPods Pro owners from using Siri to control the active noise cancellation and transparency features. The bug has reportedly been fixed in the iOS 15.1 beta. Here, Siri responds to commands from users such as “Sorry, I can’t do that,” such as active noise cancellation or activating transparency mode on the AirPods Pro.

non-functional camera viewfinder

Apart from the bugs mentioned above, there was also a bug in the default camera app. The new iOS version caused the viewfinder to become non-functional in the default Camera app.
