Apple October event: New MacBook Pros and all that the company unveiled – Times of India

Apple’s second fall event went much better than expected. Analysts had speculated that most things would make an appearance at the Cupertino giant’s October event called ‘Unleashed’. Here’s a roundup of all the big announcements:
Apple Macbook Pro Gets the biggest upgrade in years
Apple The One PF is the biggest improvement ever in its MacBook Pro lineup. The next-generation MacBook Pros come in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes and are powered by the company’s brand new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The new MacBooks come with HDMI port, SD card slot, notch, FaceID and MagSafe connector. That display is a Liquid Retina CDR display with a Mini-LED. The 14-inch MacBook Pro will cost $1,999 and the 16-inch MacBook Pro will cost $2,499. Apple has ditched the TouchBar, and instead the popular keyboard from its Magic Keyboard design has made its way to laptops.

Apple AirPods get third generation
As was widely speculated, Apple introduced the third generation AirPods, AirPods 3, priced at Rs 18,500. AirPods are Apple’s entry-level TWS buds that were first launched in 2017. The second generation AirPods launched in March 2019. AirPods 3 have spatial audio built in. The new AirPods sport a different design with a shorter stem. They have a case and force sensor control on similar stems Epipods Pro. The AirPods 3 come with “Adaptive EQ” to improve how you hear sounds based on the conditions of your ear canal and are sweat and water resistant. Apple says it now has 6 hours of listening time on a charge, and up to a total of 30 hours using the charging case.
Apple added three new colors to it homepod mini, price remains the same
Apple is adding three new colors to its smart speaker HomePod Mini – yellow, orange and blue. The price in India remains the same – Rs 9,999. It follows an upgrade to the iMac earlier this year, which offered seven colors, including orange, yellow and blue. The new colors of HomePod Minis will be made available from November. HomePod Mini is compatible with iPhone SE, iPhone 6s or later, or iPod touch (7th generation) running iOS 15; iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation or later), iPad Air 2 or later; or iPad mini 4 or later running iPadOS 15.
AirPods Pro now supports MagSafe charging
Along with the new AirPods 3, Apple also announced that the AirPods Pro now comes with a MagSafe charging case. But users will have to buy new charging cases for this, the current case does not support MagSafe charging.
