The Indian trio of Dheeraj Bommadevra, Atanu Das and Neeraj Chauhan went down 0-6 to top seed South Korea in the quarterfinals of the men’s recurve team event at the World Cup Stage 1.

It was a familiar story for the Indian archers as they lost to heavyweight Korea in the quarterfinals of the men’s recurve team event at the World Cup Stage 1 on Thursday.

The Indian trio of Dheeraj Bommadevra, Atanu Das and Neeraj Chauhan suffered a one-sided defeat 0-6 (54-55, 56-57, 54-59) to the top seeded Korean team of Lee Woo Seok, Kim Jae Deok and Kim Jae Deok had to face. Kim Woojin.

The eighth seeded Indian men’s recurve team opened their campaign with a 5-3 (57-57, 56-58, 57-56, 58-51) win over Chinese Taipei.

The women’s trio of Simranjit Kaur, Avneet Kaur and Ankita Bhakat, seeded fourth in team qualification, made a poor first round exit.

They lost 1–5 (54–57, 57–57, 50–52) to lower-ranked Indonesia in a one-sided match.

In the recurve team events, Indian hopes will now rest on the mixed pair of Dheeraj Bommadevra and Simranjit Kaur.

As she finished fifth in the qualifiers, she received a bye into the second round (pre-quarterfinals) in the recurve mixed team draw of 32.
