Arjun Maini became the first Indian to achieve a podium finishing DTM on the Norrising circuit in an action packed race.

Mercedes-AMG GetSpeed driver Arjun Maini finished second, securing his maiden podium finish in the championship in the latest DTM round held at the Circuit in Norrising. The Indian driver drove effectively from the fourth position on the grid. Manny showed consistent momentum over the weekend right from the practice session and hopes of translating that into a podium finish were high. The driver is behind the wheel of a DTM-spec Mercedes-AMG GT Evo. This is also Manny’s first season in DTM.
Manny was out of line in the first race of the weekend and almost made contact at Turn 1, which would have thrown him out of the race. However, the driver held the position well and was quick to chase down the leaders in the race.
Arjun Maini secured his first podium finish after a quick pitstop session helped the driver to P2
The race was led by driver Maximilian Götz, followed by Liam Lawson in P2 and Philippe Ellis in P3. On lap 24, Ellis attempted to pass Lawson for P2, but ended up spinning his car, allowing Manny to pass the driver and claim P3. He now made his way to P2 to overtake teammate Lawson. He got his chance on lap 26 when the driver made his mandatory pitstop. His team put up a stellar performance with a sub-7-second pitstop that allowed Manny to race in P2 ahead of Lawson.

Despite Lawson’s attacks the race ended with Manny placing second and finishing 7.651 behind the race winner. The second race of the weekend will now be held tomorrow and we look forward to seeing Manny repeat his incredible performance.
