Serie A leaders Napoli take on Lazio, while Borussia Dortmund have an opportunity to move to the top of the Bundesliga table when they take on Leipzig.

Runaway Serie A leader Napoli can extend their advantage to 21 points with a win over Lazio, while the capital side will move into second place with a win. Napoli have won 21 of their 24 league matches this season and are on a run of five wins without conceding a goal. Forward Victor Osimhen tops the Serie A goal-scoring charts with 11 goals in his last 10 matches. But visitors Lazio are unbeaten in their last four games and need points in a tight battle for Champions League places. Furthermore, with Inter Milan and AC Milan not playing until later in the weekend, Lazio could jump a point above the Milan clubs.
Germany
Borussia Dortmund’s perfect record in the Bundesliga faces a major test this year when former coach Marco Rose returns with Leipzig. Leipzig have lost only one game since September and are aiming for a win at Dortmund to tighten their grip on the final spot for Champions League qualification. Dortmund are bidding to extend their winning streak to 10 games in all competitions this year. It already has the best record of any team in Europe’s top five leagues in 2023. Another win over Leipzig will move the team three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga before 10-time defending champions Bayern Munich visit relegation-threatened Stuttgart on Saturday. Bayern is ahead of Dortmund on goal difference.

Real Sociedad hosts Cadiz, who need to get back to winning ways to ensure they don’t lose their grip on third place in the Spanish league. Sociedad were the sensation of the season before hitting a skid recently with only one win in the last five rounds. Atlético Madrid are now only one point behind in fourth place. Cadiz is playing its best of the season as San Sebastian in the north. It has climbed out of the relegation zone with three wins in its last five games, though all those wins have come at home.
France
Nice is looking to extend its unbeaten run to nine matches when it clashes with Auxerre. Nice’s run has taken it to seventh place and includes victories over high-flyers Marseille and Monaco in the race for Champions League qualification next season. Nice has scored 17 goals and conceded only two goals during eight games. Auxerre are in 16th place but have won their last two matches to stay out of the relegation zone.
