“His father gets a salary of Rs 12,000 per month. When this boy will pass from IIT, his starting salary will be Rs 2 lakh. This will be the end of poverty for that family,” he said. According to Kejriwal, if this is done for all the children, “every family in India will prosper within a generation…”

Kejriwal also met school students from Delhi who cracked JEE this year. The CM said that 1,141 students of Delhi government schools have cracked IIT-JEE and medical entrance exam NEET this year. The Delhi region has the maximum number of students at 133 in the top 5000 of JEE Advanced 2022 results.

Describing it as an emotional moment, Kejriwal said, “I am an IIT alumnus. This country has given me a lot. And since then it has been my dream that like me, all the children of India, even the poorest of the poor, should get the same facilities.

Kejriwal studied mechanical engineering at IIT Kharagpur and passed out in 1989. He then passed the Civil Services Examination to join the Indian Revenue Service. He resigned from the job and joined social activist Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement. In 2012, he formed the Aam Aadmi Party and was the Chief Minister of Delhi thrice.
