As KCR Launches BRS for National Campaign, Absence of ‘Party’ Life – Daughter Kavita – Sparks Controversy

At the auspicious time of 1.19 pm, when Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao officially changed the name of Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Bharat Rashtra Samithi, announcing his entry into national politics, the conference hall inside the Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad was surrounded by about 280 was booming with loud cheers. TRS MLAs and working members who have been waiting for this day for almost a decade.

The podium where KCR stood was shared by his closest confidants: his son KT Rama Rao, nephews Harish Rao and J Santosh Rao, along with a dozen TRS senior leaders but the lone female face of the party and the chief minister’s daughter K. There was a striking absence. Kavita has stunned everyone with just one question – is all well in the first family of the state.

TRS sources have told News18 that just an hour before the big launch, Kavita spoke to her father KCR for 10 minutes and exchanged greetings. However, there is no clarity on what happened next, which prompted him to stay at home while the rest of his family went to Telangana Bhavan. Earlier in the day, she also did not attend the Dussehra puja organized by KCR at his residence Pragati Bhavan, which was attended by KTR’s family and other close relatives.

Another tech-savvy Kavita also did not post congratulatory messages on her social media accounts after the launch of the BRS party.

These developments come as a big surprise as Kavita, who was the first woman MP from Telangana till 2019, is perhaps the most prominent face of the TRS with respect to New Delhi. He is seen as a man who enjoys a wide network of contacts and acceptance due to his simple personality and sharp oratory skills. It may be recalled that when KCR met a host of opposition leaders like Stalin, Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, HD Deve Gowda, Kavita was with him everywhere. In fact, KCR had sent his daughter to start talks with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Talks of a rift within the TRS intensified after Kavita’s name was not included in the list of 86 leaders deputed by KCR to campaign for the Munugode by-election to be held on November 3. The star campaigners include KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao who have been assigned the Chandur mandal. Mariguda Mandal respectively. Surprisingly, seven women leaders including Satyavati Rathod and Sabita Indira Reddy have also been asked to field, but Kavita has not yet been assigned any specific responsibility despite being the leading lady face of TRS, who has been tasked with grassroots leadership. The level is heavily supported. -Level cadre, especially rural women.

So why is Kavita, who helped KCR draw the roadmap for his national ambitions, now being taken away from the limelight?

There is also growing speculation that Kavita has been left to fend for herself in the backdrop of the Delhi liquor scam case, where the BJP is accusing her of being directly involved. On the probe front, the Enforcement Directorate has not found any link with the TRS MLC, but the BJP’s persistent attempt to drag his name has not elicited any response from the top leadership of Telangana’s ruling party.

As KCR moves forward with the BRS, there is a conscious effort to focus on the image-building exercise within the party. Analysts, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Kavita’s absence fueled speculation that the TRS central leadership was distancing itself from all kinds of unwanted controversies and focused only on taking on the BJP on development issues. is focusing.

News18 contacted Kavita’s office for comment, but is yet to receive a response.
