As TRS, BJP spar in Huzurabad bypoll 76.26% turnout till 5 pm, may cross 85%

Amid tensions and fighting between the TRS and the BJP, the Huzurabad bypoll saw a massive turnout at 76.26 per cent till 5 pm, while it was kept at 66.61 per cent at 3 pm.

The Election Commission made elaborate arrangements in the Huzurabad area, which witnessed a fight between TRS and BJP workers.

Officials estimate that the overall percentage will easily exceed 85 percent when the final numbers come out. Tension was witnessed in some polling stations as workers took part in violations such as distribution of funds, non-locals and politicians entering polling stations.

There were reports that the BJP had entangled with TRS leaders including MLAs Ramesh, Kaushik Reddy and others for violating the model code of conduct.

This by-election has become a tough fight between TRS and BJP. It was said that this time 14 percent more voting was seen, in which more people came to cast their votes.
