Asia Cup 2022: Asif Ali, Farid Ahmed fined for on-field dispute Cricket News – Times of India

Dubai: Pakistan‘s asif ali And Afghanistan Bowler Farid Ahmed was fined 25 percent of his match fee on Thursday Asia Cup Super 4 match.
Both are punished for violating level 1 ICC The code of conduct during the clash between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Wednesday.
The pair have been fined for a dispute after the fifth ball of the 19th over.

According to an ICC statement, Ali violated Article 2.6 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with “using obscene, offensive or abusive gestures during an international match”.
Farid had violated Article 2.1.12, which deals with “inappropriate physical contact with a player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee or any other person (including a spectator) during an international match.”

It was a tense moment in the match when the incident broke out with the pair having a knife-edge contest.
Ali was all guns blazing, scoring 16 off eight balls, threatening to take the match away from Afghanistan.
Ahmed then bowled a slow bouncer which deceived Ali Karim Janta Caught at short fine leg. The incident happened when Ahmed was celebrating the wicket, when Ali was going to the pavilion.
Pakistan eventually won the competition, with Naseem Shahi Emerging as the unlikely hero right off the bat.
With 11 runs needed in the final over and only one wicket in hand, Naseem hit two big sixes in the first two balls against Fazlhaq Farooqui as Pakistan won the match with four balls to spare.
The result meant that Pakistan and Sri Lanka qualified for the final of the Asia Cup, with India and Afghanistan crashing out of the Super Four stage.
