Asia Cup 2022: Both sides make two changes as Sri Lanka’s option to bowl against Pakistan

Sri Lanka have won the toss and opted to bowl in one more Asia Cup match against Pakistan. Dasun Shanaka, who is celebrating his birthday, won the toss and went to bowl, which was a no-brainer. Teams batting second in Dubai always had the advantage and Sri Lanka did not think twice before taking this step. Both the teams made two changes in the team.

Asia Cup 2022: full coverage , Schedule , Result

Pakistan (Playing XI): Mohammad Rizwan(w), Babar Azam(c), Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Usman Qadir, Mohammad Hasnain

Sri Lanka (Playing XI): Pathum Nisanka, Kusal Mendis (wk), Dhananjaya de Silva, Danushka Gunathilaka, Bhanuka Rajapakse, Dasun Shanaka (c), Vanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Pramod Madushan, Mahesh Thekshana, Dilshan Madushanka

Babar Azam: We would have bowled first. Two changes – Shadab and Naseem are not playing, Usman Qadir and Hasan Ali are in. Should Shadab be fit for the final, we wanted to rest him to try a different combination before the final.

Dasun Shanaka: We will bowl first. Lucky with the toss, you never know what will happen. But bowling first has been our fascination. It is good that we are playing Pakistan once before the final. Two changes – DDS is coming for Aslanka, and Pramod Madushan is making his debut for Asitha Fernando. We need to try our best XI before that World Cup and Finals.

The two sides haven’t met each other in this year’s Asia Cup but are now facing each other after cementing a place in the final. This will be a great opportunity to take on each other ahead of Sunday’s final.
