Asia Cup Final: Shadab Khan takes responsibility for Pakistan’s defeat, shares heartwarming post

The Pakistan vice-captain took responsibility for the team’s loss against Sri Lanka in the final of the 2022 Asia Cup on Sunday.

Shadab tweeted, “The catch wins the match. Sorry, I take responsibility for this loss. I let my team down.”

Rajapaksa scored 71 runs in 45 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes.

He shared a 50+ partnership with Hasaranga and Karunaratne and guided Sri Lanka to set a target of 171 runs. Pakistan failed to chase down the score and lost the match by 23 runs.

Shadab also mentioned the positivity for Pakistan in his post.

He said, “Positive for the team, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Nawaz and the entire bowling attack was fantastic. Mohammad Rizwan fought hard. The whole team tried their best. Congratulations Sri Lanka.”

Shadab Khan took one wicket for 28 runs in the match. When it comes to batting, he scored 8 runs off 6 balls before being dismissed by Thikshana.
