Assam Police recovers Maradona’s heritage watch

Wajid Hussain of Sivasagar used to work at the place where the football legend lived in Dubai

Assam Police has recovered a limited edition Hublot watch that belonged to football legend Diego Armando Maradona.

Police recovered the watch from the house of Wajid Hussain during an operation at 4 am on December 11 in Sivasagar district of eastern Assam.

Hussain was not at his home in Sivasagar town. The police later nabbed her from her in-laws’ house in nearby Charaideo district.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Twitter that the recovery of the late Maradona’s “legacy” Hublot watch was the result of international cooperation between Dubai Police and Assam Police through a central Indian law enforcement agency.

Sivasagar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Roshan said, “According to information received from Dubai Police, Hussain used to work at the place where Maradona lived in Dubai and he stole a box which contained football greats.” Hindu,

“The watch was among the footballer’s belongings that Hussain had taken before returning to India in August 2020,” he added.

Maradona, who managed two UAE teams between 2013 and 2018, passed away on November 25, 2020.

“We are interrogating the man and are hopeful that other stolen items will be recovered,” Roshan said.

Maradona played in four FIFA World Cups, including the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, where he captained Argentina and won over West Germany in the final.
