Assembly Election 2022 Updates: Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat and Congress Legislature Party leader Pritam Singh are likely to meet Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi today. Two days ago, Rawat had accused the party organization of not cooperating. However, sources said that along with the preparations for the assembly elections, the current situation in the state will also be discussed.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Ayodhya today, where he will be accompanied by Union Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Both will inaugurate the Government Ayurvedic College. Apart from this, CM will also open 50 bedded AYUSH hospital, 250 Ayurvedic dispensaries and AYUSH health centers in Unnao, Shravasti, Gorakhpur, Hardoi, Sambhal and Mirzapur. Yogi will also address a public meeting in Ayodhya, after which he will go to Bahraich and lay the foundation stone of 98 projects worth Rs 35 crore.

• Amid Omicron’s fears, sources said the Election Commission will take a final call on the assembly elections in a meeting with the health secretary on December 27.

• Top Congress leaders spoke to Harish Rawat on Thursday and sought pacification after the public outcry against the party leaders, sources said. This comes after Rawat created a flutter in political circles by accusing his organization of non-cooperation and noting that he sometimes feels it is time for him to rest.

• Sources said senior leaders sought to know from Rawat the reasons for his criticism. He said that he was asked to continue working towards ensuring the victory of the party in the upcoming elections. Rawat will attend a meeting to be held in Delhi on Friday regarding Uttarakhand elections. Meanwhile, Congress MP from Punjab Manish Tewari also criticized the party leadership.
