A case was registered against some 400 BJP functionaries for taking out a protest march in violation of the COVID-19 norms in Kalyan, police said on Saturday. The protest march took place on Thursday between Datta Nagar and Dombivli sub-divisional office and MLA Ravindra Chavan was among those who have been booked, an official said.
He said that a case has been registered under the provisions of IPC, Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Diseases Act, but no arrest has been made so far.
