The chief executive of the auto parts maker said Aptiv plc has moved a high volume of production of parts for vehicles out of Ukraine in the past few months ahead of potential hostilities.
“Over the course of the past few months, we’ve actually moved some high runner programs out of Ukraine … simply so we were in a better position to manage the disruption,” Clark said Thursday at the Barclays conference.
Aptiv swapped those programs in place for “bottom runners,” he said.
A spokesperson for Aptiv said Clarke’s “High Runner” and “Lower Runner” comments were in reference to high- and low-volume programs, but declined to comment further.
On Friday, the Russian army intensified its advance after attacking Ukraine. Missiles struck Kiev and officials said they were gearing up for an attack to overthrow the government.
