Auto Sales March 2022: Mahindra’s passenger vehicle sales up 65% year-on-year at 27,603 units

In March 2022, Mahindra’s total passenger vehicle sales stood at 27,603 units, an increase of 65 per cent as compared to 16,700 vehicles sold in March 2021. Of this, utility vehicles accounted for 27,380 units, while combined sales of cars and vans, including EVs, stood at 223 units.

Domestic automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has released the monthly sales numbers for March 2022. The company’s total passenger vehicle sales last month stood at 27,603 units, a year-on-year growth of 65 per cent as compared to 16,700 vehicles sold in March 2021. Of this, utility vehicles accounted for 27,380 units, while the combined sales of cars and vans, including electric vehicles, stood at 223 units. The company’s total sales, in which passenger vehicles + commercial vehicles + exports combined stood at 54,643 units, witnessed a growth of 43 per cent as compared to 40,376 units sold in March 2021.

Utility vehicles accounted for 27,380 units out of total PV sales

Commenting on the company’s sales performance, Vijay Nakra, Chief Executive Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., “We continued our growth trajectory with total sales of 54,643 vehicles in March 2022, a growth of 35 per cent. Demand remains strong, even as we remain vigilant on the global supply chain and take appropriate action as needed.”

In the commercial vehicle segment, Mahindra’s total sales in the domestic market last month stood at 19,837 units, a growth of 16 per cent as compared to 17,116 vehicles sold in March 2021. At the same time, in March 2022, Mahindra’s total three-wheeler sales, including electric three-wheelers, stood at 4,043 with a decline of 9 per cent as compared to 4,461 units sold during the same month in 2021. On the other hand the company’s total exports stood at 3,160 units, an increase of 49 per year. percentage as compared to 2,126 units exported in March 2021.
