The YSR Congress government has mortgaged valuable government land at 13 places in the city.
TDP leader and former minister Ch. Ayyana Patrudu has questioned the right of the state government to mortgage valuable public property to raise funds. Calling it a ‘Tughlaq’ decision, he called upon all political parties in northern Andhra to oppose it.
In a video message from Narsipatnam on Monday, the TDP leader alleged that valuable properties are being acquired in Visakhapatnam under the aegis of Rajya Sabha member V. Vijaya Sai Reddy. The YSR Congress government has mortgaged valuable government land at 13 locations in the city including Government ITI, Government Polytechnic, Circuit House, Tehsildar Office, Gopalapatnam Rythu Bazaar and Police Quarters in the city. He also alleged that the government had mortgaged the land even though the matter was pending in the court.
“Should we remain silent when outsiders come and loot our area? They will be gone after two years and the people of our region will stand to lose,” the TDP leader said and called upon local leaders of all political parties to realize their responsibility in saving the property of the region.
