Former Union minister Babul Supriyo today joined Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, two months after he was asked to resign as a junior minister in the environment ministry and a month after he was asked to join another party. In June 2019, Mr Supriyo took a dig at the Chief Minister when he objected to BJP supporters raising slogans of “Jai Shri Ram”, which he claimed created unrest in West Bengal by the BJP “mixing religion with politics”. trying to do.
