Pakistan and Sri Lanka faced off in the Asia Cup final at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, with some Indian fans claiming they were turned back at the gates. A fan also alleged that the police were pushing fans away by saying that they could not enter the Indian team jersey. The Twitter handle of ‘The Bharat Army’ shared a video of fans narrating the ordeal they faced. “Shocking treat Bharat Sena and other Indian cricket fans said they can’t enter the stadium wearing the ‘India jersey’!” The fan group tweeted.

“@ICc & @ACCMedia1 We urge you to investigate as our members traveled all the way from India to watch the #AsiaCup2022 and have been told they cannot enter the stadium by local authorities & police! Absolutely Shocking treat!” The Indian Army wrote in a follow-up tweet.

In the video shared from outside the ground, a fan explains that “The issue is that as an Indian fan, we were not allowed inside the stadium.”

“We were literally asked to leave because we were wearing Indian jerseys,” he said.

Another fan revealed, “The police were pushing us by saying ‘Go to India, go back. Don’t wear this jersey’.”

He also disclosed that no such instruction was mentioned on the website or on the mail to ticket holders.
