As she was returning for the second run, wicketkeeper Anoushka Sanjeevani tried to catch her at the crease thanks to a throw from Kavisha Dilhari. The leg umpire referred the decision up and to everyone’s surprise, the third umpire thought that Vastrakar was out.

It sounded like a touch-and-go decision, but many felt that the TV umpire could have given the batsman the benefit of the doubt, which is usually followed in tough decisions, especially run-outs. In addition to many fans, Yuvraj Singh Felt the same way.

The former India cricketer took to Twitter to question the decision. Yuvraj wrote on the micro-blogging platform, “This is such a bad decision by the third umpire! Pooja Vastrakar should have been given the benefit of the doubt!! #indiavssrilanka #WomensAsiaCup.”
