Bajra-based breakfast buffet is a must-try at Ashoka

Bajra is being recognized not only as a substitute for wheat but also as a superfood in its own right. In addition to being gluten-free, the humble grain has tons of health benefits for those who consume it. It is cheap, easily available and rich in essential fiber and vitamins. It was no surprise when the Union Budget declared 2022-23 as the International Year of Millets. Hotels and restaurants are also following suit by adding some interesting millet-based items to their menus. For example, Ashok Hotel has launched a millet-based breakfast menu that you must try.

In addition to their usual buffet spread, The Coffee Shop at Ashoka HotelChanakyapuri is also serving up some exciting millet-based items. Chef Vikas Anand, Sous Chef has prepared this interesting menu filled with good health. You can choose from whole grain breads made from millet like bajra dosa, bajra idli, bajra uttapam and even rye. Since all these dishes are steamed or baked, you can enjoy a hearty meal without worrying about calories. We thoroughly enjoyed savoring these healthy delights. There was also a khichdi made of jowar which served as an interesting way to start the day.

Millet can be used in cooking anything other than breakfast dishes, and Ashoka has a lot going for it in that department as well. You can enjoy bajra kheer in lunch and dinner too. Also, spread the word about the goodness of bajra with Bajra-based snack hampers, which have bajra-based popcorn, cookies, chips and laddoos.
