Luxury fashion brand Balenciaga is in the news but for a very strange reason. So, what are you asking? Well, the label just announced its latest sneaker collection called the Paris sneaker and it’s not what you expected. Read on to know further.
The Paris sneaker collection features 100 pairs of limited edition extra destroyed sneakers. The shoes start at $625, which is around Rs 48,304 and go up to the range of $1,850, which is around Rs 1,42,982. In a press release, the Paris-based brand noted that campaign photos of the shoes show them as “extremely worn, marked and dirty”.
The sneakers are “a retooled classic design that exemplifies mid-century athleticism and timeless casual wear in black, white, or red, with a white rubber sole and toe. It’s made of distressed canvas and rough edges. which affects the look already worn,” the brand said.

And of course, due to the rare look, pictures of the sneakers went viral and netizens brutally trolled Balenciaga all over social media.
“Totally fine. My beat up conversation that went to 916146 festivals is back in style,” wrote one user.

The Balenciaga Paris sneaker will be available worldwide on their website. They will be available in European stores on May 9 and in the United States on May 16, ahead of a worldwide launch.
