Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate K. Rajagopal Reddy is certain to be re-elected and re-elected with an overwhelming majority despite the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) through its ministers spending huge amounts of money and supplying liquor for a month. MLAs, TS BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said on Thursday.

The Karimnagar MP lashed out at the Election Commission (EC) and the police for playing “second fiddle” to the ruling party and for not taking any action despite several complaints about distribution of money and liquor by the party, attacks on his party leaders Reprimanded too. For not sending ‘outsiders’ from Munugode constituency.

“We are definitely going to file a complaint against the election officials and the police. The Chief Electoral Officer was only accepting complaints without taking any action, though we provided evidence. The district SP and commissioner have played a partisan role,” he alleged while addressing a press conference at the party office after voting.

The BJP chief demanded that the voting process be completed by 6 pm and not by 8 pm as said by senior TRS minister KT Rama Rao. “People came out in large numbers to exercise their franchise and this is a source of inspiration for us. This is despite threats, inducements and police lathi-charge.”

Shri Sanjay Kumar saluted his workers, especially the youth, for standing with the party against all odds during the campaign. “He is my hero. The entire TRS cabinet was here because ministers and MLAs were warned that if they didn’t get enough votes for the places they’ve made in-charge, they won’t get tickets. They’re attacking us. But they were filing a complaint against us.

The election campaign got tarnished due to the huge amount of money spent and it became a topic of discussion across the country. He said TRS leaders are already depressed after going against the mandate.
