Banned organization ‘Commander’ shot dead in Jharkhand

The exact reason and identity of the killers could not be ascertained: Police

A ‘commander’ of a banned outfit, Jharkhand Jan-Mukti Parishad (JJMP), was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jharkhand’s Gumla district on Sunday.

The SDPO said that the slain commander has been identified as Gumla Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sukur Oraon Manish Chandra Lal.

The incident took place at Lavadag under Ghaghra police station area, the official said.

Three mobile phones and ten empty cartridges were recovered from the spot. The exact cause, as well as the identity of the killers, could not be established.

A police team reached the spot and recovered the body, he said.

After the post-mortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members.
