BBC head on IT survey told its employees in India – we have no plans

The Income Tax survey was conducted for three days in the offices of BBC in Delhi and Mumbai.

London:

Days after a ‘survey’ of the department under him in New Delhi and Mumbai, the BBC chief claimed that the BBC is driven by purpose and not by an ‘agenda’. He will acquire Fair and without any rights. Tim Davey, snubbed by Britain’s media house BBC on Thursday in an email to his staff in India, thanked him for his clarification. Nothing is more important than receiving what he has given as fair. Davey said the BBC would help staff in India do their jobs effectively and safely.

“Nothing is more important than our ability to report without fear or division,” Davey said in the email, according to the BBC. Visible events come to the fore through journalism. Create and distribute the best content. We will not back down from that work.

Davey said: “I want to be clear – the BBC does not have a blueprint. We are driven by purpose. Our first public objective is to provide FAIR news and information to help people understand and connect with the world around them.

The department’s survey comes just weeks after the BBC aired a two-part multiple-part documentary ‘India: The Modi Question’ in Britain, conducted from its London headquarters. Reference was made to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the 2002 dialogue in the documentary.

Davy’s email document came three days after a survey by department officials was uncovered by the BBC. In an official statement at the end of the survey campaign, the BBC said it would work with the authorities to release the document and hoped that the matters would be resolved as soon as possible.

In its statements after the survey, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said that it has received the specifications. The income and profits declared by the institute’s units “did not meet the standards of operations in India”.

Earlier this week, the UK government in parliament defended the managers of the BBC and its editorial independence, saying: “We refuse for the BBC. We fund the BBC. We think the BBC World Service is important.”
