Beat the Chill with Some Chili and Black Pepper

From spicy appetizers with a ton of tweaks, Asian Nomad presents an interesting menu of pan-Asian cuisine

There’s something about black pepper. When the temperature drops, the use of black pepper in our kitchens increases as if indicated. It helps us combat the cold through an array of heat-generating dishes – from soups and fried vegetables to scrambled eggs and Chettinad chicken.

Not surprisingly, the word peppered lamb jumped up and touched my heart when I walked through the menu of a new delivery organization called Asian Nomad. It is a platform for pan-Asian food. An interesting variation has been made to many dishes, while some have been suitably enriched with spices and herbs. The peppered lamb (₹626), for example, tossed in the kadhai and served with lettuce leaves in pita-like pockets, was delightfully hot and delicious. The lamb was marinated just right, and the soft pita bread complemented its tartness, while the lettuce gave it a wonderful crunch.

But before I write more about the food, let me tell you about the Asian nomads. Co-founded by two food enthusiasts – Shruti Jain and Sanchit Gupta – it serves Asian-fusion cuisine, and distributes in Gurugram and South Delhi. you can order from www.asiannomad.in,

hot and sweet

Some of its dishes are hot, which most of us like Our sugar, and some, have a warm and sweet taste, which is a taste I thoroughly enjoy. The Asian nomads’ chicken satay was delicious, with its chili hot and the sweet flavor of the chili harmoniously matched.

Pork nomadic dumplings (₹435) were flavored with chili bean paste, house-made chili paste and black pepper, and were cooked with a mixture of spring onions and spices. A golden-yellow color with red spots, it was brilliant – and good to look at. The Jewel Dumplings (₹ 365) had a crisp texture of asparagus and chives.

The number of fans of Tofu is; Sadly I am not one of them. However, I must say that the Golden Tofu (₹465) was quite refreshing. It had a light coating, and the sauce was flavored with lemongrass and paprika.

i enjoyed nasi goreng (₹625). The Indonesian rice dish, an old favorite of mine, had a variety of flavors – from mildly sweet to hot and tangy.

The fried rice was filled with thick and juicy prawns and topped with scrambled eggs. Grilled Chicken Sriracha (₹625) consists of a chicken breast that was grilled and shredded and comes with a sweet and hot Sriracha sauce. It had a garlicky flavor which was the most delicious. I was told that the chicken was mixed with garlic juice, chopped garlic, olive oil, chili oil, chili paste and annatto oil.

I had a few fragrant jasmine rice dishes, and thought I could deal with the drop in temperature now. As long as there was black pepper – and some chili paste.
