Relieved from back pain and back pain. Everyone should get vaccinated, the call of the man of Bihar

At a time when both central and state governments have appealed to people to get vaccinated for COVID-19, an elderly man from Bihar’s Madhepura district claimed to have taken it 11 times last year.

“I have benefited a lot from the vaccines…I have got relief from back pain and back pain and hence I am taking it again and again. Everyone should get vaccinated,” says 84-year-old Brahmadev Mandal of Orai village under Puraini police station of Udakishunganj block he said.

In a viral video, Mr Mandal, a retired postal department employee, claimed that he had received his first vaccine on February 13, 2021 and the last on December 30 at Public Health Centers (PHCs) in Madhepura, Khagaria and Bhagalpur districts.

Mr. Mandal has also written down on a piece of paper the time, date and place where he took the shot. He allegedly used his Aadhar card and phone number eight times and his voter ID card and wife’s phone number on other occasions.

Madhepura civil surgeon Amarendra Pratap Shahi said, “It is a matter of investigation and only then can anything be said on it. However, an official of the Health Department in Patna told Hindu on condition of anonymity that “systems can be spoofed for jabs in offline camps”.
