Bengaluru civic body to provide tuition for poor children from August 15

BBMP will give an honorary amount of 1500 rupees to these boys and girls. Each tuition center will accommodate 20 to 30 students.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will launch a new project under which it will provide tuition to poor children studying in class III and V from August 15 in coordination with the NGO.

The project will be taken up at locations across Bengaluru on a pilot basis under the scheme “Student Belaku Adhyayan Kendra”. Tuition timings will be between 5.30 PM to 7 PM

The objective of the project is to provide children from slums and below poverty line families with more learning opportunities, training, assistance with homework and skill development.

Ram Prasad Manohar, Commissioner, BBMP Welfare Department, said that at present the classrooms of BBMP schools would be used for this purpose. Local NGOs will be empowered to supervise the tuition centres.

Various NGOs will provide necessary equipment and study material to the students. Will teach and guide young students who have completed graduation, post graduation.
