Bhagwant Mann: AAP denies Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann being ‘drunken’ Chandigarh News – Times of India

Jalandhar/Chandigarh: Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mannu On Monday came under the target of the opposition Congress And Shiromani Akali Dal Alleging that a man was allegedly “drunk and disembarked” from a Lufthansa flight in Frankfurt a day earlier, the AAP has denied the allegation and demanded an apology.
The Chief Minister was in Germany along with a delegation of state officials to meet potential investors from Punjab. He was expected to return to Delhi on Sunday to attend the party’s ‘Rashtriya Jan Pratinidhi Sammelan’ but could not make it and attended the meeting through a video call. He came back on Monday.

His delayed arrival sparked controversy following reports that a flight from the German carrier was running behind schedule because a passenger was allegedly drunk and removed from the plane. SAD chief Sukhbir Singh BadalHis wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Congress Legislature Party leader Pratap Singh Bajwa alleged that the “aired” man was CM Mann and asked him to resign.
Sukhbir tweeted: “Disturbing media report quoting co-passengers says Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was deboarded from Lufthansa flight as he was too drunk to walk. And this caused a flight delay of 4 hours. He missed your national convention. These reports have embarrassed and shamed Punjabis all over the world.”

Bajwa said Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Get the details from Lufthansa and make them public.
Lufthansa News, a verified Twitter handle, tweeted on Monday: “Our flight from Frankfurt to Delhi was delayed due to a delayed flight and a change of aircraft. best regards.”

After the airline’s clarification, AAP’s Malvinder Singh Kang said the opposition should apologise. “They have been spreading all kinds of lies since Sunday. He made false allegations against the CM of Punjab. He has no qualms in defaming the name of the state by targeting the CM.
However, the opposition continued to protest. SAD MP Harsimrat tweeted, “…the real issue is not the flight delay, but whether he was landed or not. @lufthansa’s statement is mysteriously silent on that. Will the CM please speak?”
