Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh landed in legal trouble after using the music of blockbuster Kannada film ‘KGF-2’ during the party’s ‘Bharat Jodi Yatra’ on Saturday.

A case was registered against three senior Congress leaders for allegedly making unauthorized use of the film’s music during the padyatra.

An FIR was registered at Yesvantpur police station on Friday under provisions of Copyright Act, Information Technology Act and Indian Penal Code against Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh and Supriya for using KGF-2 music for the ongoing Bharat Jodi Yatra led by Rahul. was done. Gandhi on a complaint lodged by M Naveen Kumar, who manages MRT Music.

The complainant alleged that Jairam Ramesh posted two videos of Yatra on his official Twitter handle, in which popular songs from the film KGF-2 were used without permission.

“The said videos were created using popular sound recordings owned and held by the complainant.

The said sound recording is of the cinematographic film “KGF Chapter 2″ (Hindi version), which is globally popular,” alleged Kumar.

“On perusal of the video it is clear that all the accused have fraudulently, openly and with the intention of making a false profit, unauthorized and unlawful use of the sound recordings owned and held by the complainant.”

Congress’ Bharat Jodi Yatra started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on 7th September and is expected to reach Jammu on 30th January 2023.

The march has so far covered the five southern states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. During this it will pass through different states.
