Bharti Airtel hikes minimum monthly recharge value by 57% to ₹155 in 8 circles

(PTI) Bharti Airtel has increased the price of its minimum recharge for 28-day mobile phone service plan by around 57 per cent. 155 in eight circles including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh West.

The company has discontinued its minimum recharge plan 99, under which it offered 200 megabytes of data and calls at Rs. 2.5 paise per second. Airtel has now started offering in Haryana and Odisha. 155 plan with unlimited calling, 1GB data, and 300 SMS.

The company initially implemented the increased tariffs in Haryana and Odisha in November.

When contacted, an Airtel spokesperson said, “In order to focus on providing a better customer experience, we have discontinued metered tariffs and introduced an entry-level plan. 155 with unlimited voice, 1GB data and 300 SMS. Customers can now use this plan without any hindrance. We are confident that this scheme will prove to be of greater flexibility, convenience and better value.”
