BHU researchers selected to present paper at American Association for Cancer Research

a PhD student of Banaras Hindu University (BHU)Rajan Kumar Tiwari has been selected to present his research work at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), USA. It is one of the oldest and largest professional associations for cancer research.

Rajan, who is conducting his research under Dr Ajay Kumar of the University’s Department of Zoology, will present his work in a program titled “In-silico analysis identifies unique role of ADRB2-USP20 axis in T cell lymphoma”.

The annual meeting is scheduled to be held in New Orleans from April 8 to April 13. Announcing on Twitter, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, BHU, said that Rajan would be provided a travel grant by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, to attend the event.

The government also provides financial assistance to young researchers and emeritus scientists under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Travel Grant Scheme to allow them to participate in international scientific events such as conferences, seminars, workshops, short term and present their research papers. Candidates are eligible for grants only if their research work has already been published in referenced journals. Applications for travel grants must be submitted at least two months in advance, but not more than four months.

Candidates are required to submit their travel claim under CSIR scheme within two months of completion of the program for which air travel is undertaken. However, claims more than two months after the event may be considered subject to the reason for delayed submission in exceptional cases. In no case will the claim be accepted after four months of the event.
