BHU sets up Sponsored Research & Industrial Consultancy Cell to enhance research productivity

With a view to increasing its research productivity, carried out by sponsored projects and industrial consultancy, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has set up a ‘Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy Cell (SRICC)’. Single Window System has been established to ease the working of the projects. Meanwhile, University Professor DS Pandey has been appointed as the in-charge of the newly launched SRICC.

As per the institute, the cell will be responsible for managing the entire life-cycle of all sponsored research and industrial consultancy projects. It will facilitate development and submission of project proposals, hassle-free administration of projects and networking with funding agencies, claims the free release issued by the institute.

The institute has also announced that, Prof. Sudhir K Jain, Vice-Chancellor, BHU has appointed Professor DS Pandey from the Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, as Professor-in-Charge of SRICC.

“SRICC will build inter-institutional and inter-institutional research collaborations by identifying and encouraging potential researchers from different faculties to develop larger, disciplinary and inter-disciplinary project proposals. It will also identify and nurture critical areas that have potential for university-industry research collaboration, mentorship and outreach.”

It further adds that SAIL will network with industry and funding agencies, disseminating information about funding opportunities to faculty members. Other key responsibilities of SRICC include encouraging entrepreneurship among students and faculty, promotion of university research at various fora, processing and management of project related agreements and MoUs, processing appointment of project staff/post-doctoral fellows, research and To create opportunities for development activities. Facilitates the creation and management of intellectual property assets (patents, designs), and awards and fellowships for students.
