As per official records, currently only four districts in Bihar—Gaya, Aurangabad, Jamui, Lakhisarai—are Maoist-affected. Sources said that the Bihar Chief Minister will also seek financial assistance for carrying out special development works in the districts affected by Left Wing Extremism.
A similar review meeting on Left Wing Extremism is convened by the Union Home Ministry every year. But the meeting could not take place last year (in 2020) due to the COVID-19 related lockdown and other restrictions, a Bihar government official said.
