Upendra Kushwaha claimed that he had no idea about the identity and motive of the attackers

JD(U)’s rebel parliamentary board chairman Upendra Kushwaha on Monday claimed that his car was pelted with stones by some “anti-social elements” in Naika Tola area of Bihar’s Bhojpur district. The security personnel tried to chase them. No one was reported injured in the incident.

He said in Hindi on Twitter, “Some anti-social elements attacked my car in Nayaka Tola of Jagdishpur (Bhojpur). When the security personnel tried to chase them, they fled.”

Kushwaha, who is also a member of the state Legislative Council, also tagged the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar And Bihar Police on Twitter. They have recently raised the flag of rebellion against Kumar.

Meanwhile, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said, “We do not have any information. If so, the administration will take action.”

Reacting to this, the district police said that they are probing the matter and trying to identify the culprits.

On his return to Patna, Kushwaha claimed that he had no information about the identity and motive of the attackers.

Kushwaha, a former Union minister, has been fuming since Kumar quashed speculation about his induction as deputy CM, making it clear that only RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav would hold the post.

Kushwaha, who returned in 2021 after merging his Rashtriya Lok Samata Party with the JD(U), has since been demanding that the terms of the alleged deal struck with the RJD be made public when they forged an alliance in August last year.
