Bikers loot ₹2.6 cr from cash van near ATM in Rohtak Gurgaon News – Times of India

Rohtak: Two bike riders robbed Rs 2.62 crore at gunpoint from a cash van near Gali ATM in sector 1 Rohtakbarely hours ago Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal KhattriVisited the city on Friday afternoon and when the police were stationed on the streets for VIP duty.
A security guard posted with the cash van was injured when the miscreants opened fire on him and snatched his gun before fleeing with the money.
It is learned that in the afternoon when the van carrying cash arrived to refill three ATMs, two bike riders already present near the ATM snatched his gun by firing at the security guard and were successful in controlling him.
The other three employees, including the cash van, fled after seeing the robbery. The bike riders recovered Rs. 2.62 crores escaped from the cash van in his bag.
Rohtak range IGP Mamta Singh and SP Uday Singh Meena also reached the spot. Speaking to the media, SP Meena said that a CCTV footage installed nearby shows the two robbers running away with cash and snatching the guard’s gun.
Police said that it has come to light that the bike riders were already present near the ATM, indicating that they had prior knowledge about the movement of the vehicle.
The registration number of the bike used by the absconding accused has been traced and efforts are on to arrest them.
The CM was to reach Rohtak at 7 pm on Saturday to participate in the MDU alumni meet.
Rohtak police has announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for the information of the two robbers and assured that the identity of the informer will not be revealed.
