Bizarre: Street Vendor Barters Hair for Cotton Candy, “Hair for Hair”

Before the Internet, we barely knew what was happening in the world. But now, thanks to this development in technology, we are exposed to all kinds of information. From the quirky to the innovative, almost anything can be found on the Internet. Today, we’ve found a bizarre food business that has us confused. A street vendor has started a unique food venture, where he accepts hair as payment for cotton candy. Yes, you heard it right! It may sound strange, but it is true. His concept is “Baal ke Baal” (hair instead of cotton candy), using wordplay on the Hindi word for hair i.e. hair, and the Hindi word for cotton candy i.e. Budhiya’s hair. Have a look:

The hair in exchange can be any type of hair, be it hair that falls naturally from your head or a hair cut. The man decides how much cotton candy he will get, depending on how much hair he has exchanged for her. The seller later sells off all the hair he collects and uses the money earned from the sale to support his cotton candy business. The seller sells one kilogram of hair for Rs 3000. The sold hair is then used to make wigs. The man is using this style of barter system to conduct his business for 4-5 years. The video was uploaded to YouTube by food vlogger ‘Foodie Vishal’ and the video has garnered 48k views and 2.2k likes so far.
