The Delhi BJP unit and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched their respective campaign theme songs on Tuesday, a day after the parties filed their nominations for the December 4 civic polls. Both parties claimed that it represented “the voice of the people”.

It was sung by senior AAP leader Dilip Pandey and the lyrics were penned by Lokesh Singh of the Cultural Cell of AAP Bihar State Wing. The song is composed by Sushant Asthana, who studied music at Trinity College, London.

On the occasion of the release of the song, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said, “The primary job of the MCD was to keep Delhi clean. But the BJP has miserably failed in its duty. He alleged that the BJP, on the other hand, gave only mountains of garbage during its 17-year rule in the MCD.
