BJP brands everyone who opposes it “anti-national”: KCR

K Chandrashekhar Rao said that BJP labels every person who asks for answers to certain questions.

Hyderabad:

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday hit out at the saffron party, claiming that the BJP termed everyone who sought answers to certain questions from the Center as “anti-national”.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Rao asked the BJP whether it would also call Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik and its MP Varun Gandhi “anti-national” for their remarks.

“Whoever asks for answers, they are being branded as anti-nationals. This is BJP’s style. They keep two or three tickets ready. One is anti-national ticket, and the other is Urban Naxal ticket…”

“Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik also spoke out against agricultural laws. BJP MP Varun Gandhi also expressed solidarity with farmers (in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident) and to withdraw the new agricultural laws. Is he also anti-national? What Is the Governor of Meghalaya also anti-national? KCR inquired.

Mr Rao was reacting to Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay’s statement that KCR was “anti-national” and “supported” China on border issues. They also demanded the resignation of Mr. Rao.

“Yesterday I said that China is trying to encroach on our land. So you will call me anti-national? A person who according to reports says China is encroaching on our land, must be anti-national Goes?” Mr Rao added.

On Sunday, Mr Rao claimed that China is encroaching on Indian soil along the Arunachal Pradesh border and the Center has lost its image.

The ruling TRS and the opposition BJP have been leveling allegations and counter allegations against each other over the purchase of paddy from farmers.

Alleging that the Center was buying paddy from Punjab, Rao said he wanted a clear answer from BJP leaders in the state whether the Center would buy paddy from Telangana or not.

He said that lakhs of farmers of Telangana will agitate in all the assembly constituencies on November 12 demanding to buy paddy from the Centre.

“We will not spare you unless you buy paddy from the farmers of Telangana,” he warned.

He alleged that the BJP was ruling some states like Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh through backdoor politics, though it did not get the mandate.

“You have lost bail in 107 assembly seats here (in the 2018 assembly polls),” Rao said. He said that most of the public representatives posts are with the TRS party.

He accused the saffron party of using agencies like ED and Income Tax against those who speak against it and register cases.

The CM said, “You can’t threaten me like you do to others. We are straight ahead. Don’t make unnecessary efforts. It will boomerang.”

The entire nation announces that the Center, which promised two crore jobs every year, is now laying off one crore jobs annually, he further alleged, adding that Telangana has the lowest unemployment rate in the country.

He justified the joining of other party leaders to TRS and said that his party will accommodate deserving leaders.

Referring to the defeat of TRS in the recently held Huzurabad by-election, he said that victory and defeat are part of politics.
