The party is facing voices of discontent after the selection of candidates for 10 seats in Kullu and Mandi regions. In the last election, the BJP had won nine out of 10 seats in Mandi district, while the Congress failed to win a single seat. In Kullu district, the BJP had won three seats, while the Congress got only one. After the ticket allocation, the BJP is facing rebellion within the party in districts where four rebels have filed nominations as independents to challenge the party’s decision.

Apart from Hiteshwar, former BJP secretary and media in-charge Praveen Sharma, former minister from Mandi Sadar and son of senior BJP leader Roop Singh Thakur, Abhishek Thakur, Gyan Chauhan from Sundernagar, are contesting as independent from Nachan. , BJP MLA from Anni Kishori Lal and state vice-president of BJP from Kullu Ram Singh has also threatened to file nomination papers on October 25.

The party is also facing rebellion against its candidates in Dharampur, Karsog, Jogindernagar and Darrang constituencies of Mandi districts. Vandana Thakur, daughter of Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur from Dharampur, has opposed giving ticket to her brother BJP candidate Rajat Thakur. Supporters of BJP MLA Hira Lal in Karsog have criticized the decision of the party high command to give ticket to the new candidate.

Supporters of former minister and senior BJP leader Gulab Singh Thakur are disappointed in Jogindernagar as the party has given ticket to sitting MLA Prakash Rana, who won the previous election as an independent, while in Darrang, BJP MLA Jawahar Thakur’s defenders are angry with the BJP. Huh. Puran Chand Thakur was given ticket. During the nomination of Puranchand Thakur, BJP MLA Jawahar Thakur was absent from the BJP rally in Darang.

But the party has chosen to downplay the rebellion by claiming that some of them will drop out of the race before the return date.
