BJP launches micro donation drive to become ‘Atmanirbhar’, PM Modi chipped in with Rs 1,000

On Saturday, on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP National President JP Nadda started a micro donation campaign in the path of the party to become a self-reliant organization in the service of the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon paid Rs 1,000 and shared the launch of the charity campaign on Twitter. He tweeted, ‘I have donated Rs. 1,000 towards the party fund of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Our motto of always putting the nation first and the culture of lifelong selfless service by our cadre will be further strengthened by your subtle donations. Help make BJP strong. Help make India strong.”

He also said, “A special connect campaign by BJP from December 25 – birth anniversary of Atal ji, February 11 – death anniversary of Deen Dayal ji. Your support will energize lakhs of workers who are selflessly dedicated towards nation building. @BJP4India”

Nadda also donated Rs 1,000 to kickstart the drive. Besides him, several party leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu have already contributed.

In an open letter to BJP workers, Nadda has requested them to donate according to their capacity. In his letter, he said, “Our workers can connect with people for micro donations within the range of Rs 5 to Rs 1,000. The donation module is available in the ‘NaMo Exclusive’ section of the NaMo app, which will be the medium through which we will collect these donations,” read the letter written by Nadda.

Nadda has given three main reasons behind the appeal. The reason is to put the first country first. Second, the BJP cadre’s brand of selfless service to the nation and third, the leadership of the Narendra Modi-led government.

This campaign will run till February 11, 2022, which is the death anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyay.

Many BJP ruled states have already started donation drives. The latest is Assam, which has launched a campaign to collect donations from BJP members and their families to raise a fund of Rs 100 crore to take care of the organization and its expansion.

The BJP is the largest political party in the world with Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India. The party that originated from the Jana Sangh was founded in 1951 by Syama Prasad Mookerjee. After the Emergency, it later merged with several other parties to form the Bharatiya Janata Party.
