Noida/Ghaziabad: Nine and four candidates from Noida Ghaziabad The nomination papers were filed on the fifth day of the process released on Tuesday.
Loni MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar and Noida MLA Pankaj Singh – both have been re-fielded from their seats. BJP – were among those who filed their papers.
As Singh has tested positive for Covid, BJP MP Mahesh Sharma name of cast filed the form on his behalf. However, Singh will have to take oath by January 21.
If he does not recover by that time, he will have to undergo the procedure at the hospital and send an affidavit to the Returning Officer.
Kripam Sharma of Bahujan Samaj Party, Pankaj Awana of AAP, Sanjeev Kumar Goswami of Sarva Samaj Party and independent Saurabh Goyal filed nominations from Noida seat.
Similarly, Raj Kumar of SP, Manbir Singh of BSP, Deepak Kumar Chhotewala of Congress and Jagdish Singh of Sarva Samaj Party filed their nominations. No candidate filed nomination from Jewar assembly seat.
Besides Gurjar, Amit Kumar of Hindustan Nirman Dal party filed nomination from Loni.
Nyaya Party candidate Prerna Solanki filed her nomination from Muradnagar. There was no nomination from Sahibabad and Modinagar seats, while Rakesh Suri of Right to Recall Party filed his nomination from Ghaziabad seat.
No BSP candidate has filed nomination in Ghaziabad so far. Amid tight security in the Collectorate, BJP MLA Gurjar wanted to go with more than the prescribed number of people for his nomination, but he was stopped.
He also had to change his face mask as it had the BJP symbol on it.
Gujjar has five criminal cases registered against him in Ghaziabad and Meerut.
