The Trinamool Congress has hit out at the BJP for the recent summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate to the party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and his wife Rujira, saying it was a politics of vengeance for losing the recent assembly elections in West Bengal.
The party said that the BJP is misusing the central investigative agencies against its political opponents while the investigation against its own leaders has been suppressed. The party’s Rajya Sabha chief whip Sukendu Shekhar Ray told a press conference in Delhi that the ED has now joined the CBI by becoming a caged parrot. He said that even the bureaucrats in West Bengal are being harassed by the central agencies.
