With four BJP MLAs returning to the Trinamool Congress in four months, the saffron party’s Cooch Behar South MLA Nikhil Ranjan Dey on Monday said the top leadership made a mistake by inducting TMC leaders into the BJP ahead of the assembly elections in West Bengal. Was. Dey claimed that the party’s performance would have been better had he not been included in the party.

“The BJP top leadership made a mistake by taking those TMC leaders to the party. They were never integral to the ideology of the BJP by our party. Now they are leaving.”

BJP vice-president Mukul Roy had returned to the TMC in May, days after being elected on a saffron party ticket. He was followed by three other BJP MLAs. Taking a dig at Dey, TMC Cooch Behar district president Partha Pratim Roy said, “Leader of opposition in the assembly Suvendu Adhikari is also not integrated with the BJP’s ideology as he was with TMC a year ago. Is Dey pointing fingers at Adhikari too?” Adhikari had joined the BJP in December last year.

Mukul Roy told reporters on Monday that several BJP MLAs are waiting to join the TMC in the coming days. Raiganj BJP MLA Krishna Kalyani on Sunday announced that he would not attend any party event, fueling speculation about his future course of action.
